America and the rest of the world is having a very difficult time because of the global financial/economical crisis that is happening. The recent hope for us in the U.S. was new leadership, a new president. The presidential campaign was a monumental event due to the possibility of America’s first African American President. More than ever before, people were paying attention to this election and unprecedented mark it could make in history.
Well it just so happens that Ohio is the state that determines whether a liberal Democrat or conservative Republican would be elected. They say that no president has ever won the election without winning the state of Ohio. That leaves me very intrigued as to what type of people reside in Ohio. Ironically we have a base in Cincinnati, and even more ironically, our event in Cincinnati happened just days after the election. We witnessed history in making as they chose a Democrat and the first African American president.
As I got off the plane at Cincinnati Airport, I was excited to meet the people of Cincinnati; it gives more meaning to me and my business to understand each demographic and the types of people that are a part of my business. It’s been almost 5 years since I have visited Cincinnati, Ohio and during the 30 minute drive to the Westin Cincinnati, in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, I was pleased to find the city to be so charming, warm, and quite modern.
Friday night I had a nice dinner at a teppanyaki restaurant with Robbie Hendricks, Michael Mo, Johnny Ly, Cynthia Banh, Sunlin Hem, Aaron Pitman Dan Hamilton, and Mark Graskemper. I was delighted to see that Johnny and Sunlin were here from the East Coast to support the event because they also have new upcoming Distributors. Besides the good food, we were all very happy to be together, it is not very often we get to go dinner together. Robbie and Aaron were definitely the most excited out of all of us; all night Robbie kept saying, "I have been waiting for five years for both you and Michael to be here in Ohio".
Aaron is 5 foot 3 inches tall but his smile was bigger than the dining table that night. I asked him, “What are you smiling about?”
He replied, "I can not believe you guys are here". Later, Robbie told me that Aaron helped with most of the coordination for this event. I thought to myself how lucky I am to have such great friends every where I go and that we all share such a great business together.
Our presentation on Saturday started at 1:00 pm, Robbie and his team had everything perfectly set up and the room was packed. As I was presenting, I can see the appreciation and enthusiasm in everybody’s eyes. After our presentation I had many people coming up to me, numerous times, stating that they couldn’t believe that Michael and I were in Cincinnati, Ohio and others told me about how the products have changed their lives. They have lost weight, have a much healthier lifestyle, more energy, and most of all they feel younger; their appreciation was sincerely humbling.
After my presentation and our break for lunch, the presentation room was pleasingly full, all the guests came back to hear Dr. Couey. For some reason it seemed as if there were more people in the room than before the break. As Dr. Couey was speaking, as usual everybody was laughing and at the same time they were getting educated about cell chemistry and proper ways of eating. After Dr. Couey finished, we did our recognition of our team and I was glad to see so many new rising stars hitting all the various positions. For the people that had been with us for some time now, it was very apparent that they have lost a tremendous amount of weight, improved their skin complexion, and most importantly regained their confidence. Saturday’s presentation ended with Dr. Couey doing a book signing with all the Distributors & their guests.
On Saturday night, Dr. Couey, Michael Mo, Johnny Ly, Cynthia Banh, Dan Hamilton, Mark Graskemper, Robbie Hendricks, Aaron Pitman, Ashley Chorpenning, Cara Swaby, Chris Baxter, Colin Hancock, Hany Khoury, Mitch Clemens, Rachel Burrell and I, went to dinner at a fancy seafood restaurant. As we sat down for dinner, all of a sudden everyone pulled out their blue bottle of YOR Digestive Enzymes onto the table. It was really strange how excited they were about the products, I personally thought that this is a little over enthusiastic, but then I learned shortly afterwards that many of them have had different complications throughout their lives with food digestion. This explains why everyone was bombarding Dr. Couey with technical product questions. It was amusing for me to see how young people are so interested in nutrition and health. I was so pleased to realize that we have an incredible business to help solve their health issues.
It was amazing to see the master teacher that Dr. Couey is; he was so easily able to simply explain to everybody how and why the products are working for them. He also explained that because of our bad diet we as Americans, even at a young age, are showing symptoms of the digestive issues that lead to other health complications, issues that were once thought to only affect us once we were much older. These types of things are becoming more common and we need to do our part to prevent them from happening sooner rather than later…what an incredible dinner.
The following day lasted from 1 – 6 pm. We spent all day with questions and answers, but after one full day of Dr. Couey talking about products, no one asked anymore questions about the effects of products…they were all about the business; questions of how to overcome their lack of focus, how to become a better leader, and how to have a better group dynamic with others. Robbie has done his part as local leader, he planned the event properly and everything went accordingly. As expected, the Ohio team’s questions were applicable to taking action and moving forward. Michael never ceases to amaze me with his ability to answer all of the Distributor’s questions; it was flawless, effective and efficient. He has definitely mastered the knowledge of all the practical procedures necessary for the day to day execution to develop a successful sales team. This is the best proof that he is helping YOR Health develop a great team; very evident as revenue sales are growing while the country goes through a financial meltdown. We at YOR Health are so fortunate to have Michael Mo to aid us as our President of Marketing. I saw every person that asked a question became clear on what they needed to do to move forward.
Sunday night we had dinner at PF Chang’s with the same group of Distributors. It was a dinner with a sense of victory and accomplishment. Michael and I, after 2 days with them, were able to bond and get a better understanding of leaders in Ohio. We shared lots of laughs and I can sense their excitement to move forward. They’re already asking when we will be coming back and promise to create an even bigger event…that was very encouraging.
After dinner we went back to the hotel and Robbie wanted to lounge with us to recap. Cynthia Banh and Dan Hamilton were there along with a few others. Again, we were just laughing and having a good time, but I noticed Michael & Robbie having very serious conversation. I then found out through Michael that they were speaking of Robbie’s interest in how he could improve as a leader, to provide better support for his team.
The next morning, Robbie picked me up from hotel and as we arrived at the airport I asked him what Michael said to him. Robbie said it was amazing how Michael depicted exactly what he needed to do, which was to bring up his next layer of leaders and have them run their own Executive Board Meetings. Robbie confessed to me that this was one of biggest concerns, but after speaking with Michael Mo, he now feels that he can bring them to execute the next level of leadership.
Overall, we again, had a very successful event. I know it had a lot to do with what our products have done for our customer’s and Distributor’s confidence. The confidence in our products from the customers has allowed our Distributor base to much more easily lead with confidence, which has lead to the fact that the Distributors are making more money than they ever have. During and after the event we immediately noticed that the sales in Ohio had gone up. I believe this was due to the fact that Robbie & his inner circle did an incredible job of organizing their distributors and providing the interested prospects with product information. Good job Robbie and team!
